I'm a PhD student at Lancaster University and the research fields I'm involved with include Glaciology and Climatology. In particular, I'm interested in how systematic errors in climate models impact our understanding of Antarctic ice shelf stability. I've published the following paper on quantifying systematic differences: 'Variability in Antarctic Surface Climatology Across Regional Climate Models and Reanalysis Datasets'(https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2022-86). I conclude the magnitude of systematic differences precludes the direct use/interpretation of climate model output in impact assessments over Antarctica. Recently I have been developing a technique for correction of systematic errors using observations and a Bayesian hierarchical model that captures the underlying spatial covariance structure.
