About
My main research focuses on plant-soil interactions and the impact of land-use change on biodiversity and ecosystem processes and services (e.g., biomass production, nutrient cycling, soil C storage). I am currently investigating the impact of ground-mounted solar parks in the UK on the hosting ecosystem and how this affects the potential carbon emission savings to be realised by developing solar parks. In the past, I used plant traits to understand the expected trade-offs between exploitative and conservative life strategies among species and examine how they scale-up to changes in ecosystem processes and services.
