Matthew Fry

About
Matt is an Environmental Informatics Manager at UKCEH, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute. He leads a team of data managers, analysts and software developers focussed on the production, exploitation, management and dissemination of environmental data, in particular in relation to hydrology. He is CEEDS Theme Leader for Data Acquisition and Infrastructure. He leads the development of a new digital research infrastructure for Floods and Droughts, and manages systems for UKCEH's National River Flow Archive, and COSMOS-UK soil moisture monitoring network, and the development of data and modelling platforms for UKCEH's Hydro-JULES project. He is a Senior Expert member of the NERC Digital Environment Expert Network, and was PI for the Constructing a Digital Environment ENTRAIN project looking at integration and exploitation of sensor data. At the Alan Turing Institute he develops and leads projects in areas of AI-driven automated environmental monitoring and digital twins for the environment.
