The CEEDS ideas workshop brought together 50 attendees in Lancaster over two days, 9-10
May 2022. Ahead of the workshop participants shared project ideas and these were
collaboratively developed and discuss over the two days. We assembled 33 project ideas across UKCEH and Lancaster University.
The workshop was designed to provide a space for preparing of a pipeline of potential
proposals in the environmental data science space. These proposals should be
transdisciplinary in nature and cover a range of scales from PhD projects through to large
bids.
The main objectives of the event were to:
1. Discuss and develop detailed ideas for CEEDS projects
2. Establish teams to take project ideas forward
3. Enable CEEDS community to reconnect post-Covid
We had 7 groups developed projects ranging from monitoring water quality, drought forecast to optimal decisions, and to method driven common sense and integrated model coupling framework. These interesting projects are highly innovative and timely, with great potential to develop into follow-up funding proposals.
